Here are some of the questions that we are commonly asked. If
you have a question that is not answered here,
What Sells? Anything baby, kids or maternity related such as:
And any other kid or baby related item that you may have! Dig deep into those
closets! Imagine what you can do with the new empty space you can make!
Help! Do I have to use different colored tags? No, you no longer have to use different colored tags. I have
tagged more than 150 items, but I told you less ~ Do I need How do I Price? General guideline is 1 /4 to 1/3 of the original sales price. Items in excellent condition and name brands can sell for more than items of lesser quality. Remember, items must be in good condition to be in the sale. Shoes need to be in top quality and generally are priced less than clothing (about 20%-35%). Popular, quality toys such as Little Tikes, Step Two, Perego, Brio, etc. can be priced more. Hard to find items such as double strollers can also be priced more. If in doubt, ask us at checkin. We can tell you what similiar items have sold for. When pricing, ask yourself, "Would I buy this for $xx.xx?" If you know the currently retail price for your item, write this on the tag in the description area. If the item is not longer available, try writing 'paid $xx.xx for new' on the tag. How
do I tag multiple pieces? Please tag each piece and label the
tag as '1 of 3', ' 2 of 3' etc as
Do toys sell? YES! Incredibly fast too! We get tons and tons and tons (can you tell we really get alot?) of toys! We usually have about 80 long folding tables filled with books, toys, videos, linens, and other misc. kids items! It is incredible! Please make sure that you clean the outdoor toys too. Our fall sale is a popular time to sell items that would be great to be used as gifts for the holidays.
What if I have more items to bring than I told you I was going to when I sent in my appointment request? Don't worry! Go ahead and bring whatever amount you can tag. We only ask that if you find you have more than 250 items, please let us know so we can try to move you to an earlier drop off time. We are sorry, we will be unable to move your time closer to the sale date (less than 10 days prior to the sale).
How do I get entered in the preview night drawing? Every seller (for that current sale) will have their name entered in the drawing! Your drawing entry will be your self addressed stamped envelope so make sure to bring it to your drop off appointment!
What are the seller prizes? On preview night at 5:45pm (preview starts at 6pm), we will draw cards out of the box to determine who will get shopping credit at the sale. Shopping credits given away will be: (1) $50 shopping credit (2) $25 shopping credit (2) $10 shopping credit (5) No wait checkout for preview sale only! (1) First place in line for preview night! In addition to the shopping credits, we will have a drawing for the first place in line on preview night! If your name is drawn for a credit and you are not present, the credit will be applied toward your consignment fee. If the winner of the first place in line is not present when we open the door at 6pm, a new name will be drawn. The credits are not redeemable for cash. In addition to the above, I have been promised some additional prizes.
How do I sell my books? Some sellers chose to bundle books of the same type or reading levels in ziploc type bags(sealed with tape) and price them as a group. Other sellers individually tag each book. Don't forget the books with tapes too! When placing them on the sales floor, please try to make sure to put them in the most appropiate boxes so they have the best chance of selling.
How do I sell blankets, sheets and other linens? Most buyers want to be able to inspect the items to make sure they are in great shape. Unless the item can clearly show its true condition through the ziploc bag, try hanging the item on a hanger. Putting them in ziploc type bags is fine, but make sure that the buyer can clearly see all the contents.
Should I assemble my crib? Definitely! Yes! Furniture sells much better if it is put together. The seller is able to see that it is complete and what it looks like. This is why we ask that you either bring the items assembled or assemble them at the sale location.
What type of furniture do you accept? We accept cribs, changing tables, day beds, youth beds, kids twin beds, bunk beds, kids dressers, toyboxes, rocking chairs(adult and kids), and any other item that a baby or child would use.
Can I use my seller code from the last sale? If you sold in the previous sale, I have reserved your seller code for you but this does not guarantee you a spot to sell. You still must request a seller drop off appointment after registration begins. Your code will remain assigned to you unless you do not sell with us for two consecutive sales. If you were assigned a code different from your last four digits of your phone due to a duplicate code or other reason, this code will also remain your code. If you change your phone number, you can change your code if you like, or you can keep your code. We are flexible. We are just trying to provide you with a easy to remember your code that is unique. Do I have to make an appointment to drop off my items? Yes, due to the large amount of sellers that we have, the only way we can check in everyone in such a short time is by scheduling them evenly. We also need to make sure that you are using a unique seller code. We have a limit of 1,000 sellers. Once we reach this limit, we will no longer accept appointments. We will have a waiting list in case of any cancellations. Click here for our registration page ** You must have a confirmed appointment in order to receive your barcoded tag link and sell with us.
Why a fee? In lieu of raising our consignment percentage to cover the additional fees associated with the additional costs of doing this sale, we are now deducting a $10.00 fee from your seller's commission check to help with the additional costs. The rent at the fairgrounds doubled in 2003 and increased again when they added a/c (we love the a/c) but we did not increase any of our fees or the consignment percentage due to this. The increased rent, mailing fees, security costs, a/c fee, advertising and other fees have all contributed to the increase in the fee. Why are children/babies and strollers/carriers not allowed until after 2 pm on Tuesday? The first day of the sale is extremely busy and crowded. For your and your child(ren)'s safely, we are not allowing children, babies, carriers or strollers into the building until after 2pm on the first day of the sale(Tuesday). There is no restriction on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday. We apologize for any inconvience that this may cause you, but this is necessary for safey reasons. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
